The application is available at a local DMV or printed online.<\/p>\n<div id=\"fee\">\n<h5>Fee<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<p>Disability access placards are issued at no cost.<\/p>\n<div id=\"valid\">\n<h5>Validity\/expiration of placards\/permits<\/h5>\n<div>\n<p>Applicants will need to reapply by completing a Recertification for Handicapped Parking Privileges. If disabled individuals qualify for long-term disability after their first application, they may recertify by signing the certification at the bottom of the form.<\/p>\n<div id=\"renewals\"><\/div>\n<h5>Renewing your permit\/placard<\/h5>\n<p>While permanent placards are valid for 5 years, temporary placards are valid for a period of no more than 6 months.<\/p>\n<div id=\"lost\">\n<h5>Lost placard\/replacement<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<p>Individuals who wish to obtain a duplicate placard must complete and sign the <a href=\"https:\/\/images.myparkingpermit.com\/doc\/Alabama Application.pdf\">application<\/a> for replacement disability access license plate and\/or placard. The form can then be submitted to the county licensing office.<\/p>\n<div id=\"hang\">\n<h5>Where to hang the placard\/permit<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<p>The placard must be hung from the rearview mirror located on the front windshield when the vehicle is parked in the designated parking space. When there is no rearview mirror, the placard must be displayed on the dashboard.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers are required to remove their permit from sight when not parking.<\/p>\n<div id=\"misc\">\n<h5>Miscellaneous<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<p>The dates for issuing licenses is based on the first letter of your last name.
